Dr Ahmed El-Sohemy of the University of Toronto
"Taste variation according to ethnicity"
Dr Ahmed El-Sohemy is Assistant Professor, Department of Nutritional Sciences, University of Toronto, Canada, where he established a research programme in gene-diet interactions. Ahmed holds the Canada Research Chair in Nutrigenomics and is Chair of the Canadian Nutrigenomics Committee of Genome Canada.
Dr Jeremy Hill of Fonterra
"How to link research with the innovation pipeline"
After a PhD in biochemistry from Hull University in 1987, post doctoral research for the New Zealand Dairy Board, UK, and three years at Massey, Jeremy joined the NZ Dairy Research Institute. In 2007 he became Group Director Technology of the Fonterra Research Centre. Jeremy is a director of LactoPharma, a Fonterra joint venture company.
