Martin Philpott

Dr Martin Philpott works between the Discipline of Nutrition (incorporating Nutrigenomics NZ) and the Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre at the University of Auckland. His background in cancer research focused on the immunomodulatory mechanisms of the anticancer drug DMXAA, currently in Phase III clinical trials. More recently, in the Disciple of Nutrition, he has worked in the nascent field of immunonutrition. Dr Philpott is involved in many aspects of the Nutrigenomics programme and is responsible for the development of cell-based genetic models of inflammatory bowel disease, which form the basis of high throughput screens.
