E Shyong Tai
Dr Tai attended medical school in Dundee, Scotland before returning to Singapore in 1990. He trained first in internal medicine and later, in Endocrinology, at the Singapore General Hospital. He has maintained a keen interest in the factors that govern lipid metabolism in Singapore, particularly those involving triglyceride rich lipoproteins and high density lipoproteins. Currently, he works as a clinician scientist in Singapore Health Services. He is also a consultant in the Department of Endocrinology at the Singapore General Hospital and an adjunct associate professor at the GIS-NUS Centre for Molecular Epidemiology. His research current research focus is in the elucidation of gene-environment interactions and serum lipids.
