Grier Page
Grier Page received his PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 1998 and has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama since 2001. He is a Co-Principal Investigator of the UAB Plant Genome Project and the Microarray Research Co-ordination Network, as well as a Principal Investigator of the Power Atlas. In addition, he is an investigator in the Centre for Nutrient Gene Interactions as well as other applied projects.
Dr. Page has two lines of research both aimed at localizing genes involved in complex and quantitative traits in humans and other organisms. His first line of research is the development and application of novel linkage methods for localizing genes involved through family studies. Dr. Page is primarily involved with Psychiatric disorders: anxiety disorders, alcoholism, depression, schizophrenia, suicide, lupus and reading disability.
His second line of research is the development and application of new and exciting techniques for the analysis of DNA microarrays and Proteomics. His overall research goal is to pull together multiple high dimensional Biological fields including: linkage, genomics, proteomics, and expression data to identify the genes and factors involved in diseases and traits.
