Rosalynn Gill-Garrison

Rosalynn Gill-Garrison received her PhD. in Biological Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Gill-Garrison has led the research and development efforts of Sciona from the initial selection of genes for use in the various tests, through the product development pipeline to technical sales support in developing business relationships. Her PhD project was carried out at a research branch of MD Anderson and focused on the DNA-damaging effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in animal and bacterial models. She came to the UK in 1994 to the Department of Oncology at University College London where she set up a program to investigate DNA damage and repair of chemotherapeutic agents in yeast. Her next role was to utilize bioinformatics tools and methods for a chemotherapeutic discovery group at the University of Portsmouth, to identify gene targets of DNA sequence-specific chemotherapeutic agents.  Dr. Gill-Garrison is an original member of the team that formed Sciona, Ltd in September 2000 in the United Kingdom, with the goal of becoming a leader in providing preventive health care information, focusing on diet and nutrition initially.  Sciona's vision is to expand ultimately to personalization of many aspects of wellness and health care management based on genetics and human variation.  Dr. Gill-Garrison has led the research and development efforts of Sciona since its formation as the Chief Science Officer, now based in the USA
