Abstract
Advancing Discovery Research with High Density, Functional Protein Microarrays
Ben Hwang, Ph.D., Senior Director, Invitrogen Corporation
There is an increasing need for rapid, cost-effective, yet sensitive and comprehensive approaches for studying disease pathways and identifying druggable targets. A high content, functional human protein microarray including 5,000 full-length native proteins has been developed as a discovery tool for identifying novel disease-specific biomarkers, screening for potential drug targets, and elucidating protein pathways. Specifically, this presentation will discuss the development of human protein microarrays and their utility for kinase substrate identification, serum based biomarker profiling, and small molecule protein interaction applications.
