Young Investigators’ Session: Call for Abstracts

From the 21st to the 26th of February 2010, Nutrigenomics New Zealand will be hosting the Fourth Asia Pacific Nutrigenomics Conference: “Genes, diet and Gut Health”. The conference will be held in Auckland , New Zealand and will feature a variety of local and international speakers.
An important part of this conference will be the Young Investigators’ session. This session, supported by Roche Applied Science, is open to all Postgraduate students, or those who have graduated from a PhD program not more than 5 years ago (i.e. graduation no earlier than the 1st of January 2005). Abstracts are sought for poster presentations, and those judged to have the most scientific merit will be invited to make an oral presentation during the Young Investigators’ session.
The presentations will be followed by a networking session, which will provide the opportunity for all those taking part to mix and mingle, and enjoy some of New Zealand ’s best wines and beers.
The best oral presentation will be awarded with the NuNZ / Roche Young Investigators’ prize, and the best poster will also receive an award.
If you are interested, please submit your abstract now, using the abstract template . The abstract should be sent as an email attachment to Dr Matthew Barnett (matthew.barnett@agresearch.co.nz ).
Abstracts will be due by the 11th of December 2009, and authors of those abstracts selected for presentation (either as a poster or an oral presentation) will be notified by the 16th of January 2010.

Two travel grants of NZ$500 will be available to young investigators, which will be awarded based on the quality of the submitted abstract. If you are interested in applying for a travel grant, please make this clear in the email accompanying your abstract.
