Ronan Power

Dr. Ronan Power received his B.S. in Microbiology and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the National University of Ireland. Following this, he completed his Post-Doctoral training in Cell Biology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he studied structure-function relationships of avian steroid hormone receptors. In 1991, he joined Alltech as European Director of Research; initially based on the campus of University College Galway where he was an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry. During this time, he also directed Alltech's Regulatory Affairs Division in Europe. In 1998, he re-established Alltech's European Biosciences Center at their new Headquarters in Dunboyne, County Meath and maintained an active graduate student program; with numerous Ph.D. and M.Sc. candidates having successfully obtained their degrees directly through the European Center to date.

Since 2002, he has been based at Alltech's North American Biosciences Center where he works as Director of Internal Research, while still overseeing activities at the European Center. He has a broad range of research interests related to the application of Alltech products in animal nutrition and maintains an active interest in molecular biology. Recently he was also appointed Director of Alltech's Nutrigenomics Research at their new facility in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
